Joshua started working as a Vice President for former Minister of Music Evangelist David Medlin at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Garner when he was just 8 years old. He served in this role for over ten years, where he assisted and helped the Minister of Music. His duties included overseeing the setting up of equipment for services, maintaining equipment inventory, playing the Keyboard, organizing, and directing music. After serving in this role for about 10 years, Joshua transitioned into the role of Minister of Music in 2010. He began his new journey as part of the clergy team working under the leadership of Senior Pastor Avery Foster SR.
In his new role, Joshua restructured the music ministry, adding several instruments and what is now known as the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ TDS Praise Team. With the help of this team, Joshua began a music journey that not only spread among the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ internally but also spread across the state of NC. He ministered through music, visiting rest homes, Gospel Fests, Church Revivals, Gospel concerts, and what is now known as Celebration of Praise, hosted by Joshua and the Praise Team. Joshua's attention to detail and the origination of gifts has reshaped the church's Music Ministry. Though Joshua is not working in the same role, he still makes time to teach, advise and motivate the future leaders of the church Music department.
Joshua was appointed as the Youth Pastor/Minister at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and was tasked with creating a youth ministry and program that would make an impact in the community. After being given this assignment, Joshua founded the Divine Spirituals Youth Organization. This organization, under Joshua's leadership, has provided resources, advisers, workshops, field trips, and food to many youths in the community. The organization's aim is to help at-risk youth and provide them services at no cost to the youth or parents. The Divine Spirituals Youth Organization is one of Joshua's most cherished ministries. This program now has a president and staff, and Joshua remains on the board of directors.
Joshua was called into the Pastoral ministry by God and witnessed by Senior Pastor Avery SR. He worked as a Minister in training, serving the Pastoral team in the church's administration branches. God gifted Joshua as a gift to minister to people and give them hope despite their current conflicts and situations. The gift was evident as Joshua began to preach the gospel, traveling to different churches and events. Joshua began his current and last transition as an evangelist while also serving as an Associate Pastor at the Lord Jesus Christ fellowship church.
Joshua's calling to preach has been acknowledged by many in the church, community, and partners within NC and beyond, even before Joshua himself acknowledged it. Joshua’s responsibility is to ensure that all church activities run smoothly. He also leads the hospitality committee, aiming to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable during services. For more than ten years. His transition to ministry has increased his influence in the church. He now serves in a role that is similar to a co-pastor, preaching the gospel, leading prayers, and looking after the next generation of leadership. Joshua is also responsible for preaching at funerals, officiating weddings, and traveling to partner with other churches, organizations, and community-serving initiatives.
Joshua's ability to understand and preach in ways that convict, build up, heal, and deliver is just a tiny part of who he is. Joshua has remained humble and has made intentional efforts to stay out of the lights of attention and remain committed to serving those whom God has also called. We are truly blessed because of this reality and because of this gift that God has blessed us all with.
